The FOOD Pantry has multiple grocery distribution options to safely serve the community.
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) provides nutritious meals to children age 18 or younger during the summer months. The FOOD Pantry is partnering with Milwaukee Center for Independence (MCFI) to provide pantry boxes that have seven days of breakfast and lunch for each child.
The FOOD Pantry Serving Waukesha County is collecting feedback from those we serve about how the pandemic has affected them, their satisfaction with service at The FOOD Pantry, and their satisfaction with the food provided during services.
With COVID precautions combined with extreme cold temperatures, The FOOD Pantry may adjust or limit the service hours available. Updates will be provided on the website, social media, and local news stations.
No contact service at The FOOD Pantry will continue in the fall with the additional option of online ordering.
More than 40 years ago, a group of visionary Waukesha County residents began what is now known as The FOOD Pantry Serving Waukesha County. Their mission was to ensure that any person in need had access to free food to help reduce the negative impacts of poverty. The mission remains, but the vision has grown and evolved over time on a journey we call from Hunger to Health.
Eliminating or even reducing world hunger is a daunting task. But, for us, tackling the hunger that exists in this county has been a community-centered process and a successful one. We have made consistent improvements in the ways food is provided and also increased the nutritional value and quantity of food we provide to each household we serve. But we still need to do better. And with your help, we can.
Providing a Thanksgiving turkey for every household that the FPWC serves is a tradition that has gone on for many years.
