March is National Nutrition Month

In honor of National Nutrition Month, The FOOD Pantry Serving Waukesha County is bringing you a 3 part series highlighting hypertension. Hypertension affects 1 in every 3 American adults. Of those, 1 in 5 are unaware they have it. Fortunately, you can work to control your blood pressure and lower your risk for serious health problems. The focus of this series will be identifying what hypertension is, discussing the effect it has on our health, and looking at how we can prevent or control hypertension using DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) eating guidelines.

Heart Disease is currently the leading cause of death in the US. In fact, 1 in 4 deaths in the US can be traced back to Heart Disease.
